      2. Johnny: Next Tuesday, Oct 8th, at 1-2pm in ECS 312. Show up if you can and support Linux. Get your friends to go, we want the room to be packed.

      1. Cameron Boyd: Last year I studied comp-sci in Japan. I want to get involved in the community and get experience.

        1. Linux Committee:
          1. David Gaskins: I have talked to professors. My next action is to get professors to sign a paper stating they think Linux is important. Is anyone interested? We are trying to bring Linux back and raise awareness of Linux. Once we get Linux back, we will continue promote Linux. There is a Linux workshop on Oct 12th.

    7. Old Business

      1. IRS loss of tax exempt notice
        1. Christopher: We need to fill out the form and we should be good. The form should be filled out tonight. We shouldn't have any repercussions like back due taxes.
      2. Outreach
        1. Johnny: Fliers won't be enough, we need people to actively talk to their friends. Will anyone help Diana do her Netiquette presentation on Thursday?
        2. Alex: I will help.
      3. Sign
        1. Johnny: Will we make it or buy it? We could do a fancy picture frame.
        2. David Martel: I have woodworking equipment if you want.
        3. Johnny: We will use wood then. We should just keep it simple.
        4. Christopher: I will make the design.
      4. David Martel proposes project
        1. David: i want to start a sailing video game. it will be simple 2d top down SDL, with shooting. likely event driven. I need people list of interested: cameron, david, david. code jam to start it up discuss with johnny for engine design
        2. Johnny: On a similar note, does anyone know of any upcoming code jams. If you know of any, bring them up. I would like to start doing at least bimonthly codejams
        3. Christopher: The asylum jam is coming up. It is a three day make a horror game jam.
        4. David Gaskins: What about making a text based code jam?
        5. Johnny: It would need some kind of goal and awards. What would it do?
        6. Wesley: Maybe make a board or card game?

        1. Johnny: We need to water them every week.
        2. Christopher: We will water them after every officer meeting.
      2. Move officer meetings
        1. David: I have a job at IBM and I may not be able to make officer meeting. I do not know my schedule.
      3. ACM Hangout Nights
        1. Johnny: Fridays at 4. If we get too many people, it will move. We will just play board games or impromptu LAN party. We may pool money together and buy pizza. We could even do work. We want everyone to feel welcome but we don't want to make a giant party.
